The Christmas Eve Book Tag

I love this time of year, besides the cold (which has been really COLD), I love the family time, the Christmas lights/decorations, and just the whole vibe that seems to envelop every community.  It’s like the world just becomes this different place.  To celebrate I’m sharing the Christmas Eve Book Tag (yes, a whole week early)!!  The origin of this tag (at least for me) came from abookutopia (Sasha Alsberg) here.

1) What fictional character do you want Santa to leave under your Christmas tree?

Aelin from Throne of Glass, I’m still stuck in the finale of this amazing series.  Can we just do a Novella in this world every year?  Just revisit their lives forever?  Please, Sarah J Maas??

2) What character do you want to kiss under the mistletoe?

Will Herondale.  Seriously, I love most of the characters I’ve read this year and most years, but Will is one of the most memorable and lovable characters I’ve ever read.  I can’t even begin to say how excited I am to see him again in any capacity in the Last Hours series (When Clare? When???).

3) You write your Christmas list for Santa, what are the top 5 books on it?

If we’re talking about the books I put on my list and can’t wait to hold;

  • The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi (Jan Pre-Order)
  • The Wicked King by Holly Black (Jan Pre-Order)
  • Throne of Glass Special Edition by Sarah J Maas
  • Red Rising Exclusive Edition by Pierce Brown
  • The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright

4) It’s secret santa at Hogwarts, what do you most want to recieve?

Hermione, I feel like I’d understand what to get her as a fellow reader, not to mention that it is kind of fun to shop for other readers.  You really just find out what genre they like, peek at their goodreads, and then just go into a bookstore.  What happens once you get in the store I don’t know, hopefully you don’t go wild.

5) You get to the spend the day with the characters and movie adaptation actors from one fandom, what do you pick?

Harry Potter, besides Lord of the Rings, it’s one of the few adaptations that didn’t seem to just ignore the source material.  Without going into a rant; how do you base a film on a book, and then ignore everything good about the book?  What is the point of source material at that point???  Stopping now before the rant begins.

6) What fictional animal would you like to replace Rudolph and be able to meet on your roof?

A Unicorn/Pegasus, they are so pretty and majestic!  Can we get a graphic artist on that?  A Santa Claus with a sleigh pulled by Pegasi??  And give Santa a big freaking cape going off the sleigh!!

7) You invite 10 fictional characters to your new years eve party, who do you pick?

Oh boy, I think this is the question I’m going to really have to think on;

  1. Will Herondale (The Infernal Devices Trilogy)
  2. Clary Fairchild (The Mortal Instruments)
  3. Feyre Archeron (Court of Thorns and Roses)
  4. Rhysand (Court of Thorns and Roses)
  5. Kell Maresh (Darker Shade of Magic)
  6. Mustang / Virginia Au Augustus (Red Rising)
  7. Kai (Lunar Chronicles)
  8. Shahrzad (The Wrath and the Dawn)
  9. Cinder (Lunar Chronicles)
  10. Paige Mahoney (The Bone Season)

8) What character would make a good santa? (Doesn’t have to be appearance, personality counts too)

Jace Herondale, not that he’s like an old guy that gives things just for the sake of giving, but I’d really like to see an image of him playing Santa.  I feel like he’d have this expression like he’s about to crack up.

Who’s ready for the Holidays?  Regardless of what holiday you celebrate, I think this is one of the best times of the years, everyone prepping to be with their families, and altogether just in the greatest spirit you during the year!  What are your answers to this tag?  Let me know down below in the comments!!
